Inspiration

There is nothing like new life to inspire you…

A month ago, I finished the barn addition for hay storage and additional room for goat stalls.

Last week, in the freezing cold weather, I made a birthing stall for an expectant dairy goat named ‘Hope’.

Well, Saturday when I arrived home, I found my inspiration for doing all of that hard work, even though in the midst of the work itself, I wasn’t very inspired…

Hope gave us cute little twin bucks.. One is solid black and the other is rust-colored with some white. And they were already kicking around by the time I got home! (Marilyn and Nathan were on hand for the delivery duties).

I had been at “Adopt-A-Block” – a program our church does every Saturday. We have adopted a school and it’s surrounding neighborhood – we provide a free hot lunch, games and prizes for the kids, drawings for bikes, iPods and board games – and some conversation and friendship to parents. What do we get out of it? We get to love on people, and provide coats, gloves, food, school supplies and other items to people and kids in need.

But, even though Adopt-A-Block inspires, nothing inspires like new life; raw, innocent, fresh… and frisky!
